From the Eppley Airfield
Airport:
Start out traveling north on Abbott Drive. After exiting
Eppley Airfield, turn left (south) onto Abbott Drive. Turn
right onto South 10th Street. The hotel will be on the left,
just south of Howard Street and north of Jackson Street.
From Interstate 80 Heading
East:
Traveling east on I-80, merge onto I-480 at exit 452. Turn
left onto US-6 East/Douglas Street. Turn right onto North 14th
Street and left again onto US-6 East/Douglas Street. Turn
right onto South 10th Street. The hotel will be on the left,
just south of Howard Street and north of Jackson

Heading West:
Traveling west on I-80, merge onto I-29 North at exit 1A
(toward Sioux City). Merge onto I-480 West/US-6 West on the
left toward Omaha. Take the US-6/Dodge Street exit toward
Eppley Airfield and Carter Lake. Take the US-6/Dodge Street
exit. Turn left onto South 10th Street.

 Omaha's Henry Doorly
Zoo
The Henry Doorly Zoo has many innovative
facilities and exhibits to not only preserve a broad array of species,
but also vividly present them to the public. These facilities are
exemplary to zoos throughout the country and the globe. The Mutual
of Omaha Wild Kingdom Pavilion, Lozier IMAX Theater, and Cat Complex
showcase fascinating wildlife and exotic places. The Scott Aquarium
and Lied Jungle, Desert Dome, Kingdoms of the Night, Hubbard Gorilla
Valley and Hubbard Orangutan Forest provide immersive
environments that display animals in their natural habitats.

 Joslyn Art
Museum
Joslyn Art Museum has served as a premier center for the visual
arts since it opened in 1931. Nebraska's only fine arts museum with an
encyclopedic permanent collection, Joslyn features works from
antiquity to the present with a special emphasis on 19th- and
20th-century art from Europe and America. Designed as a cultural
center for the community, the museum was built as a gift to Omaha from
Sarah Joslyn in memory of her husband George, a prominent Omaha
businessman and community leader. The building remains a monument to
their commitment to the arts.
 Neale Woods Nature Center
Wander nine miles of marked trails through forest, prairie and
wetlands along the Missouri River. Featuring a butterfly garden and
regular astronomy programs at Nebraska's largest public observatory.

 DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge
DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge is
part of a network of refuges devoted to preserving and restoring
increasingly scarce habitat for migratory waterfowl and other
wildlife. The refuge is comprised of 7,823 acres in Iowa and Nebraska
and lies in the Missouri River Valley floodplain on a former meander
of the Missouri River. Each year, especially during the fall,
spectacular flights of ducks and geese mark the changing seasons along
this traditional waterfowl flyway. An interesting assortment of
warblers, raptors, shorebirds, and other bird life can be observed
also.
Performing Arts in
Omaha
Omaha's performing arts include a
professional opera
and symphony, a large theater community, as well as a number of
traveling performances throughout the year. The Omaha Theater Company for
Young People was established in 1949 and is one of the five largest
children’s theaters in the nation. It reaches over 200,000 people each
year with its programs (approximately 32% of the Omaha metro area). It
recently moved into the Rose Blumkin Performing Arts Center, a 1927
vaudeville theater in downtown Omaha that completed a 10.3 million
dollar renovation in 1995. Opera Omaha is an internationally recognized
professional company that presents full-scale productions each season.
There are over 15 active theater companies in the area. The Omaha Community
Playhouse is the largest community theater in the
nation.

Performing Arts Center
Opened in October 2005, the Holland
Performing Arts Center is a true cultural landmark. Built with the
overwhelming support and generosity of the Omaha community, the Holland
Center marks the collaboration of a world-class team of architects,
designers, and acousticians, tasked with creating a performing arts
venue to be envied anywhere. Capable of hosting various forms of
entertainment, the Holland Center specializes in events requiring a more
acoustical environment, including performances by the Omaha
Symphony.
  The Orpheum Theatre
Omaha's celebrated Orpheum
Theater is home of the finest in local and national performing arts.
Located in downtown Omaha, the Orpheum underwent a major $10 million
renovation in 2002 and the ornate splendor of this magnificent theater
was enhanced to better serve patrons and artists. In 2004, the Orpheum
Theater Skylink was added for increased convenience and accessibility to
the Orpheum. The 200-foot-long elevated, enclosed and climate-controlled
walkway connects the OPPD parking garage to the Orpheum Theater. The
Orpheum Theater hosts performances by the Omaha Ballet Company the Omaha
Opera Company and the Omaha Symphony.

Symphony
The Omaha Symphony performs more
than 200 concerts from Sept. to May each season, including three main
series: classical MasterWorks performances, intimate Chamber orchestra
concerts, and star-studded SuperPops shows. Regarded as one of the
finest regional orchestras in the nation, the symphony serves over
300,000 patrons annually, including more than 40,000 school-age
children.
The Rose, Omaha Theater
Company for Young People
One of the oldest and largest
theaters for young audiences in the country, it is located in a
beautifully restored 1927 vaudeville palace that houses two theaters,
and a company of professional actors and dancers.
Omaha Community
Playhouse
The largest community theatre
in the nation offers 11 exciting productions of plays and musicals in
two state-of-the-art theatres. Elegantly catered meals are
available.
 The Bemis Center for
Contemporary Arts The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is a non-profit artists'
residency program dedicated to: providing artists with the opportunity
to create work in a nurturing environment; to develop and promote a
meaningful dialog about the contemporary arts with a local, national
and international audience; to facilitate meaningful exchanges between
artists and the general public through educational opportunities;
providing artists the opportunity to exhibit work in a professional
gallery setting.
